Smooth Beam
Non-ablative means there is no destruction or removal of surface tissue. The Candela Smooth Beam laser is used to treat fine wrinkles, shallow acne scars, active acne, and sebaceous hyperplasia by targeting structures in the dermis. A series of monthly sessions usually results in mild-to-moderate improvement with no downtime and minimal discomfort. It may take 4-6 months for the benefits of the laser treatment to be evident, since the effects on the tissue are subtle and cumulative. This laser can also be used in conjunction with the pulsed dye vascular laser to improve overall skin tone, color, and texture.
