Dr. Danielle Engler
Danielle Engler, M.D.
Dr. Danielle Engler graduated from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts and received her M.D. degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University in New York. She did two years of Pediatrics training at Babies Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, and then completed a Dermatology residency at Columbia Presbyterian in 1985. She is board-certified in Dermatology, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Medical Dermatology Society, as well as a member of other dermatological and medical societies.
Dr. Engler is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University and is an Associate Attending in Dermatology at the Columbia University Medical Center. She served as the Residency Program Director in Dermatology for five years and is currently the Director of the Dermatology Clinic. She received the Teacher of the Year award from the dermatology residents in 1999, 2002, 2003, 2007 and continues to be a respected clinician, teacher, and mentor for the next generation of dermatologists, as well as for her professional peers and colleagues in dermatology and other specialties.
At Columbia, Dr. Engler supervises dermatology residents and rotating residents in their care of patients, lectures, teaches, and advises medical students. She serves on numerous committees of the Department of Dermatology and Columbia University Medical Center, including Quality Assurance and Patient Safety and the P&S Club Advisory Board. Dr. Engler has a special interest in medical dermatology, including psoriasis, pediatric skin conditions, and challenging diagnostic cases
